Student Awards
GW Ramsey Scholars
The top ten students across all of our classes are selected as Ramsey Scholars every academic year, and each student receives a $5,000 financial award. The program was started in academic year 2019 and the GW Investment Institute has awarded $350,000 to students to date. These financial awards are funded from a portion of the endowment payout from the GW Ramsey Student Investment Fund designated for the Ramsey Scholars program. The fund was launched in 2005 with seed funding from Russ and Norma Ramsey.

GW Investment Institute Leadership Awards
The GW Investment Institute Leadership Award is open to all undergraduate and graduate students at GW. Students must have taken a GW Investment Institute-associated class (such as the Ramsey Student Investment Fund or the Quant Student Investment Fund) and/or students must have made a consistent and material contribution to the GW Investment Institute.
Students must have also demonstrated leadership at GW — for example, by leading and/or participating in student organizations, helping other students, working on projects that benefit students beyond themselves, or leading fruitful and challenging discussions in and out of the classroom.
Award recipients receive recognition from the GW Investment Institute and a $2,000 financial award. The GW Investment Institute Leadership Award was started in the academic year 2020 and $28,000 has been awarded to 22 students to date.
